NBA: Health Problems: Cavs-Coach Lue takes time out

Tyronn Lue takes a break as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In an official statement by the Cavs, he stated that he would leave office indefinitely due to health problems.

“After many conversations with GM Koby Altman and the doctors, I decided to take some time off,” explained Lue, who gave a deeper insight into his health situation.

“I had chest pain and suffered from sleep disorders throughout the season,” said 40-year-old Lue:”Despite many examinations, it was not possible to find out what caused these problems.

He does not want to influence the performance of the team with his health problems. He will use the time to come back stronger and healthier so that he can lead the team to the title, Lue said.

General Manager Altman told him:”We know how difficult these circumstances are for Lue and we support him.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Assiciate Head Coach Larry Drew will pass by. Adrian Wojnarowski, also ESPN, added that Lue had been thinking about a time-out for several weeks.

The team around superstar LeBron James, who won the title with Lue 2016, currently ranks third in the Eastern Conference with a score of 40-29. The playoffs start on 14. April.
