Ice hockey: Grizzly captain Haskins must end his career

Captain Tyler Haskins of vice champion Grizzlys Wolfsburg has to end his ice hockey career with only 31 years. The reason for this is the consequences of several concussions. This was announced by the club from the DEL on Monday. Wolfsburg had failed in the quarter-finals of the play-offs on Friday with 1:4 due to the polar bears Berlin.

“It is a message that hits us all very hard. Tyler’s doctor has advised to end his career due to multiple and recent concussions,” said sports director Karl-Heinz Fliegauf: “It’s unpredictable what would happen if he suffered another concussion.

The American Haskins has played for Wolfsburg since 2010 and became captain in the 2013/14 season. The striker, whose contract ran until 2020, scored 325 points in 405 DEL matches. His number 10 will never be assigned by the grizzlies again.
