NBA: Thomas not on the Lakers team because of his hip

Isaiah Thomas missed the last two games of the Los Angeles Lakers. He is currently not with the team because he has his previously injured hip examined.

Thomas’ absence from the Lakers team is excused as he is currently evaluating options for further treatment of his hip. For this purpose Thomas flew to New York, according to the team.

Thomas had suffered an impingement in his right hip in the Eastern Conference Finals 2017. In the course of his rehab he missed the first half of the current season, only on 2. January he returned – still in the jersey of the Cavaliers.

Whether acute pain is the reason for his time-out or whether he will be missing for any longer is not known at this stage. Since he was traded to the Lakers, he has played 15.6 points and 5 assists. Next summer he will be Unrestricted Free Agent.
