BBL: Alba Berlin consolidates second place with Kantersieg

Alba Berlin successfully defended its second place in the BBL with a kerb victory.

The team of coach Aito Garcia Reneses finished the fourth medi Bayreuth in front of 11,697 spectators with 100:68 (47:38) and is with 36:8 points the strongest competitor of front runner Bayern Munich (40:2). The cup winner had to compete at the third MHP Giant Ludwigsburg late in the evening.

With 17 points, Joshiko Saibou was the best thrower of the “Albatrosse”with six players scoring double the score. De’ Mon Brooks was the most successful shooter of the disappointing Bayreuthers, with 13 points.

In the parallel basement duel, BG Göttingen won two important points with a 95:75 (41:38) against tail-light Walter Tiger’s Tuebingen. Brion Rush scored 26 points, team mate Michael Stockton scored 20 points in front of 3363 spectators. For Göttingen, it was the first victory after eleven games without a win.
