NBA: KD on Free Agency:”I want to wait and see who wins the title.”

Kevin Durant could become a Free Agent in the summer of 2018 if he leaves his contract with the Golden State Warriors as expected. But you don’t have to worry too much in the Bay Area.

Durant was asked by The Athletic on Friday whether he could be looking for a new team next summer. KD said:”Oh, you want to start? I’m not thinking about that. I’m right here. That’s not something I’ve thought about so far.”

Durant switched from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Warriors in the summer of 2016. In 2017, the Warriors became the final MVP champions with Durant, and then signed a new 1+1 deal in Golden State, earning him $25 million this season.

For Durant, money is not the decisive factor:”Money is not important to me. I’ve already made so much money in my career,”said the 29-year-old,”I know I want to stay here. I love playing here.”

He will definitely stay with the Warriors, Durant said, before he jokingly added:”You know, if I think about it, I want to wait and see who wins the title. I’ll sign a new contract with the team.”

Durant has an average of 26.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the current season. The Warriors are currently in second place at the Western Conference with a 49-14 record.
