Golf: Hoffman plays Hole-in-One at the Masters in Augusta
Charley Hoffman made a hole in one at the US Masters in Augusta. On the 16th hole of the last lap, he pocketed the ball with one punch. The 165 meter long hole is classified as par 3.
The American also had the luck on his side, as he himself admitted. Actually, he wanted to play the green with his iron 6 like most of his colleagues on the right, but pulled the ball to the left. There the ball bounced from the edge of the green so favorably towards the hole that it finally rolled in.
It was the first hole in one of his career and only the 20th in the history of the Master at this hole.
Especially curious in this case: Hoffman’s lap partner was Tony Finau, who also managed a hole-in-one at the par-3 contest on Wednesday, but sprained his ankle while cheering, so his participation in the Masters was questionable.
