NBA: Talent from Bavaria signs up for the draft

Karim Jallow from FC Bayern Basketball has submitted the necessary papers to register for the 2018 draft. This was confirmed to ESPN by his agent Jan Rohdewald.

“Playing in the NBA has been my dream ever since I can remember,” said Jallow. “Signing up for the draft helps me make this dream come true. “I want to prove myself against the best draft candidates and everything I learn in the process will help me improve.”

Jallow, 21, was particularly convincing in the ProB for Bayern II this season, averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 32 minutes per game. He also played 13 times for the Bavarians in the EuroCup and in the BBL and stood out above all due to his good defense.

“Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to play regularly at the highest level this season,” said Jallow. “I believe that the workouts will show the NBA teams that I can be as good as the top talents from the colleges or the players who have been in Europe’s top leagues. “I can play in several positions front and back and that’s exactly what the NBA teams are looking for.”

In ESPN’s Top 100, Jallow is currently in 72nd place and it is seen as at least a possibility that he could be drafted in the second round. However, he could also decide to withdraw his name by 11 June. Since he was born in 1997, he could still register for the draft next year.

“I’d like to prove to teams that I belong in the NBA,” said Jallow. “I believe that the experience, the workouts and the competition will all make me better.”
