MLB: Boston Red Sox Expand with Fifth Season Grand Slam Record Balance

The Boston Red Sox continued their successful run and were able to further expand their dream balance at the start of the season. In the duel against Oakland Athletics (9-11) on Friday evening, the team from Massachusetts scored the 17th victory in the 19th game with a 7:3.

Center Fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. landed a 3-run homoon in the second inning and brought Boston back after a 3-0 lead for the A’s.

First Baseman Mitch Moreland provided the 7:3 final score with a Grand Slam in the sixth match section. It was already the fifth Grand Slam of the current season for the Red Sox, they did not manage a single one for the entire 2017 season.

Boston have generally shown themselves to be in a good mood for long balls in recent games: in the three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, they have won a whopping eleven homers, the third most in such a series ever.

With Friday night’s victory, the Red Sox are the fifth team in the history of MLB to start the season with a score of 17-2. Two of the previous four teams, the Detroit Tigers of 1984 and the Brooklyn Dodgers of 1955, ended the season as World Series champions.
