NBA: Spurs: Gasol and Parker continue – Manu hesitates

The San Antonio Spurs failed in the first playoff round due to the Golden State Warriors. Veterans Tony Parker and Pau Gasol definitely want to continue, Manu Ginobili has not yet decided.

35-year-old Parker announced right after Game 5 that he was planning to return next season. It doesn’t matter whether he continues to play the role of backup behind Dejounte Murray or is promoted back to the starter. The Frenchman was on the floor 55 times this season, scoring 7.7 points and 3.5 assists on average.

His team-mate Paul Gasol also commented on his future immediately after the game: “I still have enough in my tank,” said the Spaniard. He will therefore continue to play in any case. According to the 37-year-old, the season was quite efficient in terms of playing time. He averaged 10.1 points in 23.5 minutes and 8 rebounds.

The situation around the Argentine Manu Ginobili is not so clear. He turns 41 in July – but has not yet decided whether he wants to stop. “I’ve been thinking about resigning for ages,” he said at the post-game press conference. “But nothing has changed: I just don’t know yet. I’m gonna take a month or two to see how I feel. “I’m not the kind of guy who just makes a decision in passing.”
