MLB: White-Sox-Reliever Danny Farquhar on his feet again after aneurysm

Danny Farquhar, a relief of the Chicago White Sox, took his first steps after an aneurysm in his brain. According to manager Rick Renteria, Farquhar is still in intensive care, but his condition is stable.

“His condition is improving for the better,” Renteria said. “Everyone is grateful for this. The delicate situation is still being closely monitored, but we are happy to say that it is going in the right direction.”

Farquhar collapsed last Friday in the Dugout against the Houston Astros. He was transported directly to the surrounding hospital and operated there on Saturday.

Before Thursday’s match against the Kansas City Royals, White Sox players entered the field in training shirts with “Pray for 43” and “For Danny” printed on their sleeves.

Nate Jones, Reliever for the Sox, also announced that Farquhar’s jersey will hang in the bullpen until further notice. “He’s our brother, and part of this team. We want to show him our support,” Jones said.
