MLB: Dominant Didi! Yankees-Shortstop Gregorius decides game against Angels

The New York Yankees (16-9) could rely on their shortstop again on Friday evening. In a close match against the Los Angeles Angels (16-10), Didi Gregorius made the Pinstripes win 4:3 with a home run in the tenth inning. New York thus stand with a series of seven victories in a row.

Gregorius hit a fast ball of Angels Reliever Blake Parker in the Right Field over the boundary. It was his tenth home run of the current season, his first in an away game.

Previously, the Yankees scored 3-3 with a Sacrifice Fly from Pinch-Hitter Brett Gardner, who brought Gary Sanchez home.

Angels-Right-Fielder Kole Calhoun caused a sensation twice: Early in the game he thwarted a hit from Top Prospect Gleyber Torres before not allowing a home run from Neil Walker in the sixth inning. However, the Sac-Fly should still provide the 2:1 lead.

Yankees-Ace Luis Severino (5 H, 3 ER, BB, 8 K) threw 96 pitches over seven innings, but David Robertson was awarded victory with a flawless ninth inning.

Albert Pujols entered the scores with his 2,995th career hit, while the Angels took their star Shohei Ohtani from the field in the seventh inning due to injury at the hock.
