NBA: Morris to Wizards-Aus: “Were the better team”
The Washington Wizards have gone on holiday with their defeat against the Toronto Raptors. Markieff Morris nevertheless believes that the Wizards were the better team in the series, although they lost 2-4.
“We were the better team,” Morris said after the game. “However, the better team doesn’t always win. We had some problems this year and should never have been in eighth place in the playoffs.”
The Wizards had some injury worries during the season. John Wall’s retirement hurt Scott Brooks’ team in particular, but Morris himself and Otto Porter also missed a few games.
“Obviously we had some problems, but that’s just how it is during a long season. We fought, but it wasn’t enough,” the Power Forward continued.
Raptor coach Dwane Casey also praised the capitals after game six and stated that the wizards were no ordinary 8-seed. Nevertheless, the Raptors won 4-2 in rack five and six thanks to a few strong final sections.
Toronto won 59 games in the Regular Season, giving them the second-best record in the entire NBA. The Wizards, on the other hand, were only successful in 43 games and lost the chance of better seeding in Orlando on the last day of the match.
