NBA: Russell Westbrook angry about Utah fans: “No respect at all”
Russell Westbrook has sharply criticized the fans of Utah Jazz after the Oklahoma City Thunder left the playoffs. Above all the lack of respect for the opponent pissed off the still reigning MVP.
“I don’t mess with fans, they attack me,” Westbrook said after the game at the press conference. “I’ve been insulted a few times here in Utah, there’s just no respect at all. “They talk about your family, about your children, there’s no respect for the game.”
The Guard also didn’t like the fact that fans of jazz filmed him very close with mobile phone cameras. Right after the end Westbrook got into a little battle of words with a fan at the edge of the field.
According to Russ, the League should intervene because of the hostile atmosphere in Salt Lake City. “This needs to be addressed. I’m tired of playing here when the fans say what they want. This has to stop.”
Westbrook scored 46 points in game six, but that was not enough for the Thunder. Oklahoma City retired in the first playoff round for the second time in a row.
