MLB: Best start since 1907! Diamondbacks win series against Nationals

The Arizona Diamondbacks (19-7) have continued their impressive season start. After an extra inning, the desert team won 4:3 at the Washington Nationals, setting a historic record.

Nick Ahmed scored the winning run in the tenth inning because Nats Reliever Austin Adams made a walk on invited bases. “If I go out there, I have to throw strikes. I just didn’t do my job,” Adams disappointed himself after the game.

With two solo Homuns David Peralta became the star of the game. The Right Fielder has never achieved this before in his career.

With their victory, the Diamondbacks have already determined a game before the end of the series with the men from the capital. Arizona thus prevailed in the ninth series of the current season, something no team has done for 111 years. The Chicago Cubs made the same successful start to a season on their way to becoming a World Series title in 1907.

Nationals are only in fourth place in the table after two consecutive divisional titles in the East NL with an 11-16 result. Of nine games decided with a difference of one run, Washington lost eight. “All I can say is that the guys are in it with all their hearts,” said manager Dave Martinez.
