NBA: Substitution denied: Hood says “sorry”
Rodney Hood refused to be substituted in garbage time when the Cavaliers won against the Raptors in game 4. He apologized to the franchise. There won’t be any consequences.
According to Cavaliers coach Lue, Hood The Athletic wanted to substitute for the Cavaliers at 110:80. There were still 7:38 minutes to play. Previously, the Shooting Guard had received 10 minutes of play time, but had not scored any points. Hood then refused to re-enter the field in garbage time, which his teammates are said not to have been pleased about.
Now ESPN reports that Hood has already apologized to General Manager Koby Altman for his behavior. He feels “terrible” and wants to apologize to the team as soon as they train together again. Players got a few days off after the sweep against Toronto.
However, the 25-year-old does not have to fear consequences. The franchise from Ohio is not planning a punishment or even a suspension.
