NBA: LeBron: “You don’t know what I’ve been through”
LeBron James has reached another career milestone that night and displaced Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from first place in the field goals scored in the playoffs. Afterwards, he humbly gave in and remembers his time as a child.
“Whenever I’m mentioned in the same breath as these legends, I get very humble,” James said at the post-4 press conference against the Celtics. “You don’t know the whole story where I come from and what I’ve been through – but I’ll talk to you about it when I’m done playing basketball.”
James added: “I grew up in a small town 35 miles from here. Now I hear I belong to the same category of legends[Abdul-Jabbar and Co.] I’m not one of them. That’s cool. I remember watching the playoffs as a small child and I just thought,’Man, how I’d like to be a part of it, in these moments, in this atmosphere.
James also pointed out that he has always been a player who has not primarily looked at scoring – so it is a bit surprising for him to appear in these very categories among the elite.
Thanks to 44 points from LeBron James it is a draw after game 4 of the Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. Game 5 takes place on Thursday night again in Boston (2.30 a.m. live on DAZN).
