NFL: Cruciate ligament rupture at Hunter Henry

Hunter Henry tore the anterior cruciate ligament during training. This was announced by the Los Angeles Chargers on their social media channels.
Coach Anthony Lynn assumed a less serious injury before the diagnosis became known. Henry’s long-term retirement is a serious loss for the Chargers’ offensive, which has continued their injury plight of recent years.
Meanwhile, the injury could reopen the doors for Antonio Gates to return. Just a month earlier, the Los Angeles Chargers had informed the 37-year-old that they were no longer planning with him. Gates has already repeatedly stressed ambitions to return to the NFL.
