MLB: New York Mets put Thor on Disabled List

The New York Mets have put Noah Syndergaard on the 10-Day Disabled List. Pitching Ace has injured the index finger of his right throwing hand.

As the Mets announced on Tuesday, an investigation in New York revealed a pulled finger. The DL-Move is retroactive to May 26.

“He threw a side session yesterday, noticing the pain in his finger,” manager Mickey Callaway told reporters in Atlanta, where the Mets are currently playing a series against the Braves. “He had a bruise on his wrist and we thought he should be examined.”

Callaway also said Syndergaard was in some pain after his last start and would wear a splint to heal his finger for now.

However, “Thor” should not fail for too long. “For now, the goal is to let him rest a few days and then have a bullpen session at the weekend. After that, he should be all right,” Callaway predicted.

For the Mets, this is the next medical setback, after seven other top performers are already on the DL. To make matters worse, starter Steven Matz left the game early on Tuesday. However, a diagnosis is still pending, but it is probably also a problem with a finger.
