NBA: Cavs before Game 1: Love is still questionable
Shortly before the start of the NBA Finals it is still not clear when Kevin Love will be available again for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The All-Star is still in the Concussion Protocol.
Love suffered a concussion in Game 6 of the Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics in a collision with Jayson Tatum and therefore missed Game 7 of the series. Cavs coach Tyronn Lue confirmed on Tuesday that Love has still not passed all tests and therefore has not been released yet.
Love has played an average of 13.9 points and 10 rebounds in the current postseason. In game 7 he was represented by Jeff Green, who was able to contribute to the 87:79 success with 19 points and 8 rebounds instead.
Green would probably start again in game 1 of the finals if Love didn’t return in time. The game takes place in the night on Friday at 3 am (live on DAZN).
Love has a long history of concussions. In 2016 he suspended a final game due to a concussion and missed games in March this season as well.
