NBA: Lowry demands “more effort” from Raptors
Kyle Lowry has asked his Toronto Raptors in the playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers for more effort and a tougher style of play. He also emphasized that nothing had been decided yet.
“We have a lot more work to do,” said Lowry. “A lot more effort. And we have to play harder.” By that he meant above all the third quarter of game 2, which the Cavs had won 37:24 and thus laid the foundation for the second victory in the series.
At the same time, Lowry stressed that there was still no reason to mope. “Okay, we’re down 2-0. But you need four wins, so it’s not over yet. We will now focus on the next game and continue looking from there.”
Head coach Dwane Casey had demanded one thing above all from his team right after game 2: “We must now show our pride. We’ll go to Cleveland and play there for our pride. I don’t know the story[about comebacks after 2-0 deficit]. But what I do know is that the way we’ve performed, we haven’t been ourselves until now. That has to be changed now.”
