NBA: Thompson and Love will not be banned from Game 2 of the Finals
Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers will play game 2 of the finals. The center is not banned by the NBA after its ejection in game 1, but must pay a fine of 25,000 dollars. This was announced by the league in a statement.
The Canadian was punished for not leaving the court immediately after his ejection and for pressing Warriors-Forward Draymond Green basketball in his face.
The incident occurred 2.6 seconds before overtime in Game 1, which the Warriors won with 124:114.
Thompson was originally dealt a Flagrant 2 challenge for his Shaun Livingston challenge. After reviewing the league, the incident was downgraded to a flagrant 1 foul. The collision with Green took place immediately afterwards.
According to information from ESPN, Kevin Love will probably also avoid a ban. The forward had run into the field during the scuffle, but did not participate in it.
Game 2 of the finals will take place again in Oakland at 2am on the night of Sunday to Monday.
