MLB: Jays-Top-Prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. injured at knee

The Toronto Blue Jays are worried about top prospects Vladimir Guerrero Jr. who has now been placed on the 7-Day Disabled in Double-A. The Third Baseman injured his left knee on Wednesday and will be further investigated.

In his New Hampshire Fisher Cats game against the Akron RubberDucks, Guerrero had to be replaced by a Pinch Runner in the fourth inning. The son of Hall-of-Famer Vladimir Guerrero limped off the field after scoring an infield single in a sprint.

An exact diagnosis of the severity of the injury is not yet known. Guerrero, however, is regarded as a top prospect in the Blue Jays’ farm system and was about to be promoted to the Triple-A team of the franchise, according to consistent media reports.

In 53 games for the Fisher Cats, Guerrero hit a slashline of .407/.457/.667 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI.
