MLB: Ex-All-Star stops thieves with firearms
Former Major League pitcher Kevin Brown now prevents crime. The 53-year-old stopped two mail thieves and stopped them with a gun before the police arrested them.
According to a report by The (Macon) Telegraph, there has been an increase in theft of mail in his neighbourhood in northern Macon/Georgia for some time. Brown now apparently stopped the perpetrators, a 15-year-old boy and a man who were arrested on Wednesday.
Brown hid in a neighbor’s yard and waited for the two accused to try to steal letters from the mailboxes. When they arrived, she surprised Brown with a gun and held them until the police intervened.
It was not clear whether and if so, for which crimes the two will ultimately be charged.
Brown played in the MLB from 1986 to 2005 for a total of six teams. He scored 211 victories and was elected to the All-Star team six times. He also led the National League at ERA in 1996 and 2000.
