NFL: Brady: “Think about the end of your career more often”
In a turbulent off-season around the New England Patriots, the storyline around Tom Brady’s possible near-term career end also persists. Now Brady expressed himself – and admitted that he is certainly dealing with his resignation.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Brady admitted, according to the Boston Herald, with a view to the end of his career: “I think about it more often than before. I think I definitely see the end of my career coming sooner rather than later.”
When asked how much longer he wanted to play, Brady simply replied: “As long as I still love the game. “As long as I love training and preparation and love to devote myself fully to it.”
But at the same time, Brady continues, “other things happen in my life. I have children that I love and I don’t want to be a father who’s never around. My children have given my life a great perspective. “Children just want attention, and you as a father better be there and be available.”
The 40-year-old also addressed those who wanted to portray him as the best quarterback of all time: “I don’t like it. I don’t like people saying that at all. I don’t feel that way myself and I don’t care if people think that. I want to be as good as I can. “But going out there isn’t about comparing myself to anyone.”
