NBA: Rookie, Defender, Coach: All Winners of the NBA Award Show

The awards for the Regular Season were presented at the NBA Award Show 2018. James Harden received the coveted MVP trophy, Ben Simmons was best rookie. LeBron James didn’t get nothing either. SPOX reveals all winners.

James Harden, LeBron James or Anthony Davis? These three superstars were in the MVP race to the end. As expected, Harden of the Houston Rockets won the trophy at the NBA Award Show 2018.

The Rookie of the Year was chosen to open the show. With Ben Simmons from the Philadelphia 76s the favourite prevailed, although the competition with Donovan Mitchell (Jazz) and Jayson Tatum (Celtics) was considerable.

The best defender was Utah’s Rudy Gobert – his jazz had achieved an outstanding defensive rating of 101.6 in the season. It was a bit strange for the Coach of the Year, as title holder Dwane Casey had been released by the Raptors after the playoffs.

As Most Improved Player Victor Oladipo was awarded by the Indiana Pacers, Sixth Man of the Year was Lou Williams. LeBron James won a consolation prize: The fans voted his game winner against the Minnesota Timberwolves for Play of the Year.

Victor Oladipo left Clint Capela and Spencer Dinwiddie behind.

Dwane Casey won the award against Quin Snyder (Utah Jazz) and Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics).

Lou Williams, Eric Gordon (Houston Rockets) and Fred VanVleet (Toronto Raptors) were among the last three and won.

Sportmanship Award: Kemba Walker (Charlotte Hornets)

Executive of the Year Award: Daryl Morey (Houston Rockets)

Teammate of the Year Award: Jamal Crawford (Minnesota Timberwolves)

Best Style Fan Award: Russell Westbrook (OKC Thunder)

Play of the Year Fan Award: LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Lifetime Achievement Award: Oscar Robertson

Sager Strong Award: Dikembe Mutombo
