NBA: Mavericks: Trade for Jordan this week?
The Dallas Mavericks seem to be taking the race for Clippers Center DeAndre Jordan seriously. According to media reports, they are aiming for a trade this week.
This was reported by Marc Stein of the New York Times. According to this, the Mavericks are working hard to thread a trade this week that would take Jordan from Los Angeles to Dallas.
The prerequisite for this is, however, that Jordan first pulls his Clippers player option, which promises him $24.1 million for the coming season. The deadline is Friday. If the 30-year-old does without it, he will be in the offseason Unrestricted Free Agent, which the Mavericks want to prevent. You prefer a trade.
Jordan and the Mavs have a history. In the Free Agency 2015, the Mavs had already agreed to cooperate with Jordan during the moratorium. But he changed his mind and signed a new contract with the Clippers, which caused a sensation and disappointment in Dallas.
However, the clips are now in a state of upheaval, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are already gone. Now they are ready to give Jordan away. Stein says they have the green light from him and his advisor to trade.
