NBA: Media: Cousins probably extending in New Orleans
DeMarcus Cousins will probably be part of the New Orleans Pelicans again next year. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, it is very likely that the center will extend its contract in the Big Easy.
This is what Woj said at SportsCenter. The Newsbreaker was optimistic that DeMarcus’ cousin would indeed stay in New Orleans. Despite his Achilles tendon injury, the Pelicans want the center to remain in the team.
But the injury must have cost Boogie a lot of money. Woj also explained that after his best season of his career he was on his way to signing a full Max contract for 5 years.
Now NOLA had the better position and could in all likelihood hold cousins for a two-year contract. In the room is a buzzer between 54 and 60 million dollars for the two years.
Cousins injured himself badly at the Achilles tendon in January and will probably not be fit for the start of the season either. The 27-year-old averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 48 games.
