About a week ago, it emerged that Ball had suffered a meniscus tear at the end of the past season. Actually, this is not intended to prevent it from being available for the start of the coming season – but according to the latest rumours, an operation could still take place after all.

According to Woj, the Lakers had no interest in the problems of the No.2 pick becoming public in 2017. Instead, Ball’s camp is suspected of having leaked the injury in order to lower the player’s trade value. He wants to stay with the Lakers and prevent him from getting involved in a deal.
