NBA: Summer League: Double-Double for Hartenstein

Isaiah Hartenstein made a good impression in the first game of the Summer League. The German Big played a double double for the Houston Rockets and also blocked four rolls.

After Moritz Wagner, Isaiah Hartenstein also convinced in his first game in the Summer League. The German Big scored a solid 12 points (3/5 FG, 6/9 FG), 11 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 partly spectacular blocks in 25 minutes. The Rockets often used last year’s second round pick as a man for dribble handoffs, where mostly good decisions were made. Partially he also showed his good drive, even if he was partly error-prone (4 TO).

Besides Hartenstein, the Chinese Zhou Qi (10, 2/4 threesome, 7 fouls) also showed a soft hand. Top scorers of the Rockets were Danuel House and the undrafted ex-Duke-Guard Trevon Duval with 20 points. It was also Duval who ensured that Houston maintained the lead in the second half and brought home victory, even though he missed two free throws 6.4 seconds before the end.

For Indiana Aaron Holiday convinced with 23 points (7/12 FG), but in the end he didn’t know what it was like due to the broken scoreboard instead of taking the trio. So the clock ran down without the Pacers taking another shot. T.J. Leaf, on the other hand, stood out with a weak shooting (4, 2/14 FG) and poor litter selection.

It was indeed the Summer League debut for O.G. Anunoby – two months after he had to defend LeBron James in the playoffs. This time the Swingman got more responsibility, but only got 9 points (3/11 FG) and struggled with his throw. But that applied to the entire Toronto team, which had no chance against New Orleans.

Frank Jackson (13) showed a good game at the Pels. The Point Guard had completely missed out on an injury last season. Also in a good mood was Center Cheick Diallo (13, 10 rebounds), who recorded a double-double. Second round pick Tony Carr played 5 assists. Topscorer of the Pels was the undrafted Guard Trevon Bluiett with 24 points (6/8 trio).
