NBA: Dissatisfied in Portland? Lillard expresses himself
Damian Lillard has responded to the rumours that he is dissatisfied in Portland. The playmaker now denied these reports and once again made it clear that he was happy with the blazers. However, Dame was also critical of some moves in the offseason.
“I’m happy with our coach, I’m happy with our general manager Neil Olshey, I’m happy with everyone here,” Lillard told Casey Holdahl of NBA.com. “I’m not unhappy. I love where I live. I love the organization, I love our coaching staff.”
Most recently, rumors have been circulating that Lillard was associated with the Los Angeles Lakers. The All-Star still has a contract in Portland until 2021 and wants to play for the title with the Blazers in the future.
“We must take the right steps in this direction,” Lillard explained. “I have a feeling the franchise wants to do this.” However, the playmaker did not agree with all of the blazers’ moves. Portland had Ed Davis, Pat Connaughton and Shabazz draw Napier from the Free Agency, players who were important rotation players last season.
“I loved Ed,” confessed Lillard. “He’s one of my best friends in the league. His departure is a loss to us. Bazz and Pat also played important minutes for us. We’ve now lost three players who helped us last season.”
The Guards Seth Curry and Nik Stauskas came along. In addition, Portland Restricted Free Agent Jusuf Nurkic was able to hold.
