NBA: Parker moves to the Chicago Bulls
Jabari Parker moves from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Chicago Bulls. According to media reports, he will sign there for two years. The Bucks have already confirmed his departure.
Parker was actually just a restricted free agent, but the Bucks waived their rights to match the Bulls’ offer. According to ESPN, this will cost 40 million dollars for two years, with the second year including a team option.
“Jabari and I felt it was in both our interests to withdraw the qualifying offer and make him an unrestricted free agent. We are grateful for everything Jabari has done for the franchise and community over the past four years,” says General Manager Jon Horst.
Parker has suffered two cruciate ligament ruptures in his four-year NBA career. Last season he played 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds in 31 games.
In order to be able to record the salary under the Salary Cap, the Bulls had to dismiss Paul Zipser at the same time. His salary ($1.5 million) for the coming season was not guaranteed.
