NBA: Sixers: Is Korver from Cleveland?
The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly plotting a trade for Kyle Korver. The noble marksman began his career once with Philly.
This is reported by insider Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, among others. Accordingly, the Sixers intend to make the Cavaliers an offer which could include Mike Muscala, acquired in the Schröder-Melo-Trade, as equivalent. Marc Stein of the New York Times also writes by Point Guard Jerryd Bayless as part of the package.
Korver still has a contract until 2020 and earns up to $7.5 million annually. However, his last contract year is only partially guaranteed. Bayless’ contract expires in 2019 ($8.5 million), Muscala’s contract ($5 million) expires too.
Korver is an old acquaintance in Philly. The 37-year-old began his NBA career there after the New Jersey Nets drew him into 51st place in the 2003 draft and handed him over directly to the Sixers. He stayed until 2007.
Last season he scored 9.2 points for the Cavaliers, sinking 43.6 per cent of his three.
