MLB: Season Off? Tebow breaks his hand
Tim Tebow has broken the hook leg in his right hand and needs surgery. This means that the outfielder in the New York Mets’ Minor League system is expected to be out for the rest of the season.
Tebow’s surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. He will then be absent for six to eight weeks, effectively putting an end to his season, as John Ricco, Mets Assistant General Manager, explained on Monday.
Tebow sustained injury in his Binghamton Rumble Ponies’ Friday match against New York Yankees Double A Trenton Thunder. He was put on the Disabled List on Saturday.
Tebow beat .273 this year with six home runs and 36 RBI and also played in the Eastern League All-Star Game. Ricco called Tebow’s season “positive”.
Tebow also led his team with 103 strikeouts in just 83 games. “I see his season exclusively as positive. He took great steps forward,” Ricco continued.
