NFL: Cardinals dismissed German DE Djeri

The Arizona Cardinals fired Moubarak Djeri to make room for Tre Boston. Safety signed a one-year contract for $1.5 million.

Boston is considered the dream player of Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks, who has worked with Boston for three years with the Carolina Panthers. After Boston left the Panthers in 2016 for Los Angeles Chargers, Wilks and he are now reunited.

“This means a lot to me. These people know my character and my way of playing. Now we are together again and I want to justify this trust,” Boston told azcardinals.com.

Djeri originally signed a three-year contract with the Cardinals. In any case, the way from the 90-man squad to the regular season squad (53 players) would have been long. But this is how his dream of the NFL ends for the time being.

The 190 cm tall and 125 kg heavy Djeri played last season as defensive lineman for the Cologne Crocodiles in the GFL. He came up with twelve sacks, 40 tackles, ten tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
