NBA: Nowitzki criticizes Durant’s Twitter activities
Dirk Nowitzki is known for his relaxed attitude towards criticism in the social media. He differs from Kevin Durant, who recently clashed with fans. The German advised the star of the Golden State Warriors that he should not go into this at all.
Nowitzki said on the Dan Patrick Show that he is having fun with the trolls on Twitter and that Durant should do the same. “I don’t follow him on Twitter, but it’s almost impossible to miss all this,” the German reported.
Durant was a guest at C.J. McCollum’s podcast during the week and the two fought over DeMarcus cousins and their signing to the Golden State Warriors. Some users on Twitter provoked KD as a result, to which he even replied.
This was incomprehensible for Nowitzki. “I don’t know why you have to talk trash to fans on this platform. I’m making fun of it. Every now and then I check my mentions and it usually says that I am old or should resign. You shouldn’t let that get to you.”
Dirklues further explained that he could not understand why Durant responded at all. “Twitter is a place where a lot of hate is spread. I’ll look at it with a smile on my face. You just can’t take that seriously.”
Durant now played it down again and asked on the fringes of Team USA’s mini camp in Las Vegas why people would think he was angry. It was just a little fun for him.
