NBA: The best Dirk Tweets: Baby Giraffe, style icon and Papa Smurf
Dirk Nowitzki’s tweets have been legendary for years – hardly any other athlete has understood better how to make fun of himself on Twitter. After the 40-year-old once again made a statement at his own expense on Saturday, SPOX looks back on the best works of the superstar of the Dallas Mavericks.
On Saturday, Nowitzki was interrupted at his rehab in Dallas to undergo a routine NBA doping control.
His reaction: “Did you see me move last season?” No more questions!
At the Draft Lottery 2018 (Dallas had a good chance on the first pick) Nowitzki proved why he describes himself as a rather negative guy. By the way, it became Pick No.5.
Nowitzki’s running style has been the subject of legends for years. Dallas cowboy star Ezekiel Elliott had his very own comparison…
However, we would all like to see this race.
As long as he doesn’t have to shift into reverse!
There is definitely no lack of training morale, but perhaps the support of his trainer. A bit mean, isn’t it?
Nowitzki can also keep himself wonderfully fit. Want some proof?
Just don’t overdo it, or you’ll have to get those orthopaedic shoes. Note the great Photoshop skills in this picture, by the way.
Dirk can’t just make fun of himself, by the way. Ask “Papa Smurf” J.J. Barea…
… or Zaza Pachulia, of course. No wonder the Georgian joined the Golden State Warriors after this tweet.
But his favourite victim is still Dirk himself. To a dance with C.J. McCollum.
Nowitzki is still a dunk machine today. Do you?
Do you?
Of course you can!
Still jumpy as ever, the Dirk.
After that, however, Nowitzki seems to hurt all his bones again.
Not even in the video game everything can work out.
On his 40th birthday, Nowitzki logically took some more speeches.
And this one here…
But people are just jealous of Nowitzkis style, we think to ourselves.
I hope he kept this sweater.
And probably the most important trophy of his career: What is an MVP, a finals MVP or a championship ring when you get a POTATO?
There are supposed to be NBA players who use Twitter mainly to fight either officially or with Burner accounts with fans. Nowitzki has been showing how to do it right for years. To be continued …
