NBA: Howard: Talked to the Warriors
Dwight Howard is playing for the Washington Wizards next season. The center explained that John Wall finally convinced him. Superman also said he had contact with the Golden State Warriors this summer.
Talking to NBC Sports Washington, Howard said it was John Wall who made the Wizards tasty. “He asked me to come to D.C. That’s all there was to it. I was right on board,” Howard explained his rather simple decision making.
For the center, this conversation was enough to know that the wizards are the right decision for him. “It was great that he was looking for contact. I’ve never played with a point guard like John Wall. Why would I miss this opportunity?”
But the Wizards were not the only team in contact with the five-man who bought out the Nets after his trade from the Charlotte Hornets to Brooklyn. “Golden State called me and I thought about it,” Howard reported. “But after John sent me this message, I knew I’d be a wizard.”
However, there are contradictory rumours about this. According to The Athletic, the Warriors had actually thought about Howard, but the team allegedly put a stop to a possible commitment. Instead, the dubs strengthened with DeMarcus cousins on center.
This is Howard’s third team in three years. Last season, the Big played his best season in five years with 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game for the Hornets.
