MLB: Super-Rookie damaged stadium with ball

Ronald Acuna Jr. made a lasting impression with a home run on Thursday when his Atlanta Braves beat Miami Marlins 5-0. At the same time, it is now at the top of the statistics.

In the third inning, Acuna stepped up to the plate and hammered a 2-2 pitch in Marlins Park onto the grandstand in Left Field. According to Statcast, the pitch flew 432 feet at an exit velocity of 105 miles per hour and a 29 degree launch angle.

The crowning glory was an official Bat Flip, but that wasn’t all. The ball bounced against a wall covered with tiles. And the playground equipment did visible damage. A tile cracked, a clear crack is visible and a piece was broken out.

Apart from that, it was Acuna’s 21st home run of the season, leading all rookies in the MLB. Acuna is considered one of the favorites for the title of National League Rookies of the Year.
