MLB: US star: Lunch for a million dollars?!
Lunch at a hotel in Los Angeles recently became a really expensive affair for Justin Verlander. The hotel staff apparently still resented him for the Houston Astros beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the last World Series. Verlander took it with humor.
The Astros were guests at the Los Angeles Angels for the weekend and Verlander met with ex-tennis player Mardy Fish for lunch at the renowned Beverly Hills Hotel.
The already exorbitantly expensive food was overshadowed on the bill by a special item: “Dodger Killer” was billed for 1 million dollars.
Verlander took it with humor and posted his bill on Instagram: “The Beverly Hills Hotel really makes me pay for this World Series victory,” wrote the Astros Ace garnished with emojis.
However, the whole thing was only a joke, Verlander only had to pay for the food – his work as “Dodger Killer” was for nothing.
