NBA: Media: Spurs get replacement for Manu
San Antonio Spurs has signed a one-year contract with Free Agent-Swingman Quincy Pondexter. This is reported by ESPN.
Pondexter had to undergo multiple operations on his left knee and then also contracted the skin infection MRSA, but according to the report, the 30-year-old is now completely healthy again.
The Forward will probably get the squad place of Manu Ginobili at the Spurs. The Argentinean had announced his resignation on Monday after much consideration.
Pondexter played 23 games for the Chicago Bulls last season, but was then waived. With the Spurs, the No.26 pick from 2010 will probably have quite good prospects of minutes when it is really healthy again. The Spurs had lost Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Anderson and Ginobili on the wing over the summer.
In his NBA career, Pondexter scored an average of 5 points and 2 rebounds on 302 missions so far.
