NBA: LeBron: Silence doesn’t feel right
On Tuesday the new HBO Show of LeBron James, The Shop, celebrated its premiere. This caused controversy with some discussions on social topics. In the first episode, James stated that he felt obliged to address such issues.
“I want that satisfaction. Not for myself, but for everyone else,” said LeBron in his show. “I grew up with rappers like Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Jay-Z or Biggie and now I have a chance to be an inspiration to all those kids who look up to me.”
James has been politically active in recent years and has repeatedly criticized the current President of the United States, Donald Trump. In addition, LeBron often fought against racism, even though he had to collect criticism from other camps.
“I don’t want to sit back and say nothing just because other colleagues don’t talk about things. That doesn’t feel right,” LeBron explained his attitude. “I don’t give a shit about the feedback, even though my popularity will decrease. This isn’t about me.”
