NFL: Monster Trade, Monster Deal: Bears get Mack
The Chicago Bears are trading for one of the NFL’s best pass Rushers: Khalil Mack, who is dissatisfied with the Oakland Raiders, however, comes at an expensive price.
The compensation looks like this: The Bears will receive a second round pick in 2020, a conditional five-round pick in 2020, the Bears’ first-round picks in 2019 and 2020, a third round pick in 2020 and a six-round pick in 2019.
After Spotrac, the Chicago Bears have the sixth highest cap available at $23.9 million, which allows them to pay Mack the desired super contract. This was finally followed late in the evening: Mack agreed a six-year contract with the Bears for 141 million dollars, of which 90 million in total guarantees. Mack thus overtakes Aaron Donald as the best paid defender of all time.
Mack collected 304 tackles and 40.5 sacks for the Raiders in four years. The Bears get one of the most dominant pass Rushers of the league for the coming years. The Raiders, on the other hand, are equipping themselves with hefty capital for new talent in the future.
