NFL: Bell continues Holdout – Steelers disappointed

A week before the start of the season, Le’Veon Bell has not yet contacted his team. The Pittsburgh Steelers have now made an official statement and expressed their disappointment.

“We are disappointed that Le’Veon Bell has not signed his franchise tender and joined his teammates,” said CEO Kevin Colbert on Monday. “Coach Tomlin and the coaching staff will continue to focus on our opening match against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.”

Bell will stay away from joint team activities in preparation for the second summer in a row after the deadline for the extension of players with the franchise day on July 16. In the low season, however, he registered again at least in time for Week 1.

If Bell continues his holdout through the season, it will cost him dearly. The Running Back would forego about 853,000 dollars per game.

In Bell’s abstinence James Conner is expected to start on Sunday in Cleveland.
