NBA: Do the Wolves want to get Swaggy P?
The Minnesota Timberwolves are still looking for wing players. That’s why the Wolves are doing some workouts this week with several veterans, including Nick Young, who most recently played with the Golden State Warriors.
This is reported by Darren Wolfson of ESPN. Besides Young, Arron Afflalo and Corey Brewer are also expected to recommend themselves for a contract.
The Wolves currently have only twelve players with a guaranteed contract in their books, and James Nunnally’s salary is only partially guaranteed. Another option for the Wolves is Luol Deng, who recently agreed to a buyout with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Young, on the other hand, is more likely to have an obligation. The Wolves showed interest in the shooter already at the beginning of the Free Agency, but could not reach an agreement. The Warriors earned Young around $5.2 million last season, an amount that no team will probably pay him now.
The Shooting Guard scored 7.3 points on average last season, sinking 37.7 percent of downtown.
