NBA: Westbrook operates – Schröder as starter?

NBA superstar Russell Westbrook threatens to miss the start of the season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to the franchise, Westbrook has undergone a small operation on her right knee.

The Thunder reported an inflammation in the knee, which Westbrook apparently contracted last weekend, as the reason for the operation. It also says that both the franchise and Westbrook and their team considered pro-active treatment the best solution.

The seven-time All Star is expected to miss the Thunder’s entire training camp. The right knee will be reexamined in four weeks.

The Thunder will start the new season on 17 October with an away game with the Warriors. Should Westbrook not be fit by then, Dennis Schröder would probably start the season for OKC.
