NBA: Timberwolves apparently not interested in Noah
After the signing of Luol Deng a few days ago, rumours spread that the Minnesota Timberwolves also had their eye on Joakim Noah. However, this does not seem to be the case.
As NBA insider Marc Stein of the New York Times reports on Twitter, the Timberwolves do not currently plan to offer the center a contract if he leaves the New York Knicks. Apparently this will not lead to a complete Bulls reunion in the far north.
Noah signed a four-year contract for $72 million in the summer of 2016, but due to numerous injuries he was far from meeting his expectations.
According to various reports, the Knicks have been trying for some time to get rid of the 33-year-old either by trade or buyout. If this does not succeed, the Knickerbockers will apparently use the stretch commission, which makes it possible to spread the remaining salary of Noah (about 2 years / 37.8 million dollars) over several years.
