NBA: Drumbeat! Butler demands trade from the Timberwolves
Jimmy Butler has apparently told Minnesota Timberwolves that he wants to be traded before the season starts. This is what Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski from The Athletic report.
Butler is said to have presented the T-Wolves with a list of “one to three teams” where he could imagine signing a contract. According to ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, the three teams are the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks.
Krawczynski further reports that Timberwolves coach and GM Tom Thibodeau have no interest in fulfilling Butler’s trade wish.
Butler is said to be dissatisfied with the lax attitude of his younger teammates, especially Karl-Anthony Towns. As early as July, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Butler is not considering signing an extension with the Wolves.
Butler didn’t get to Minnesota from Chicago until the summer of 2017. In his first season in the far north he scored 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2 steals on average.
