MLB: Wrist: Atlanta worries about starter
Dansby Swanson left the game of his Atlanta Braves on Tuesday against the New York Mets (7-3 Atlanta) with pain in his left hand. A diagnosis has yet to be made.
After the game, manager Brian Snitker explained that the substitution was a precautionary measure. However, Swanson’s wrist was a “cause for concern” because the pain was bad enough to take him out of the game.
Swanson was examined Tuesday night. He had already missed 13 games earlier in the season with an inflammation of the left wrist.
The shortstop beat a fly out in the second inning and was then replaced for the third inning by Charlie Culberson in the field.
Swanson beats .235 this season with 14 home runs and 59 RBI in his second full season in the MLB.
