NBA: Schröder: “Westbrook and I will be difficult to defend”

Dennis Schröder wore the jersey of the Oklahoma CIty Thunder for the first time at Media Day. The German is looking forward to the new task and the interaction with Russell Westbrook and Paul George. He didn’t give a damn about the role.

“It’s a new chapter for me. I look forward to Russell Westbrook, Paul George and the others,” Schröder told Royce Young of ESPN. “I’m glad I’m in OKC now. It’s a great franchise and I think we have a great group here.”

Schröder is especially looking forward to the cooperation with Westbrook and announced that the Thunder will play very fast in the coming season. “We will be difficult to defend in one-on-one.”

By the way, there could be good chemistry between Schröder and Center Steven Adams. They know each other well from the draft workouts in 2013 and the New Zealander reported that the pick’n’roll between the two had worked very well in practice at the time.

Schröder was selected by the Atlanta Hawks at position 17 in 2013, where he also spent the first five years of his career. In July, the playmaker was traded to Oklahoma City against Carmelo Anthony, among others.
