Basketball: Bamberg wins Derby – Alba and Oldenburg distribute slaps in the face

Alba Berlin started the new Bundesliga season with a gala performance, while Brose Bamberg had a hard time. The Albatrosses won against Science City Jena with 112:55 (52:31) and underlined their ambitions to stand up to the champions Bayern Munich in the title race. On Friday, the people of Munich had worked their way to an 83:77 at ratiopharm Ulm.

EWE Baskets Oldenburg also outclassed their opponent and broke the 100-point mark. The play-off participant of the previous season won the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig with 100:64 (48:30). The US-American Will Cummings shone for Oldenburg with 25 points.
